Manchester United unbeaten start to the season came to an end after Kortney Hause late header handed Aston Villa a 1-0 victory in the English Premier League.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer named an unchanged line-up from their previous league victory over West Ham United. Luke Shaw was substituted in the first half and was replaced by Diogo Dalot. Captain Harry Maguire was also replaced in the second half by Victor Lindelof. Both the defenders got injured during the match.
Mason Greenwood and Ronaldo played as strikers in the match. Greenwood played a much wider role on the right and Ronaldo played more centrally. Pogba and Bruno played as the attacking midfielders behind the two forward players.
Axel Tuanzebe was ineligible to play against his parent club. Kourtney Hause replaced him in the centre of the defence.

Manchester United players attempted 28 shots and Mason Greenwood attempted eight shots in the match. The xG rate of the youngster was 0.55 and he attempted ten dribbles in the match. Bruno Fernandes had the highest xG rate in the match and he attempted six shots towards the opposition goal. Douglas Luiz made seven recoveries in the opposition half.
Manchester United players attempted most of the shots from inside the opposition box. All the shots that were on target were attempted from the left side. Bruno Fernandes missed a penalty for the home team in the dying minutes of the match.
Aston Villa scored a goal from a corner and Hause headed the ball on the near post. The xG rate of the team was 1.30 and other shots attempted on target were from the centre.
Manchester United players were on the front foot from the starting of the match. The players created pressure on different occasions and the shots attempted during those periods were high in number. Manchester United creative zones were wide. Dalot created the highest threat with his passes after coming on as a substitute.
Mason Greenwood created the highest xT from dribbles in the match. He used to cut in from the right side and that created a lot of threats.
Douglas Luis and McGinn created the highest threat from passes for Aston Villa. They were supported by youngster Jacob Ramsey. The creative zones were wide and less for Villa players.
Ollie Watkins created the highest threat with his dribbling. He was followed by youngster Jacob Ramsey.
Most of the defensive duels were contested on the right side of the defence. Bruno and Fred contested 10 duels in the match. Fred won half of his duels and Bruno won one fewer duel than Fred.
Manchester United players were strong aerially and Varane won 8-% of his aerial duels. Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Scott McTominay won three duels each.
The loose ball duels were mainly contested in the middle third. Paul Pogba won the most number of duels for the team. He was followed by Maguire and Fred.
Aston Villa players lost most of their defensive duels. Konsa, Mings and Douglas Luiz won two duels each. The team lost most of the duels in the defensive third
Konsa was the strongest player in the air for Villa. The defender won four out of six duels and he even scored with a header.
The loose ball duels were mostly contested towards the right side of midfield. Mings, Hause and Ings won two duels each in the match.
